DC Comics confirmed the rumor that Ann Nocenti will be joining Catwoman. Nocenti will be joining the book with the “0” issue which will be an origin issue. Current writer Judd Winick had been solicited for the issue but that’s been scratched. Despite speculation that she’d switch books with Winick, Nocenti will also continue to pen Green Arrow as well. What isn’t decided is who the ongoing artist will be on Catwoman.
Josie Campbell has a good interview with Nocenti over at CBR with the details and it includes some interesting soundbites:
She’s more villain than hero to me because she’s selfish. She’s motivated by this need to have things, to want, it’s a compulsion, she’s got to go get it. And if along the way she does something that seems heroic, it’s an accident.
I’ll start picking this one up in September.
Oh my God this is brilliantThis one is by Cameron Stewart, who given that he was an artist on the last volume of Catwoman, does know a little about the character. He tweeted today, “I really don’t know about this new Catwoman design”

I think it shows how utterly tone deaf DC is. Remember how they redesigned a bunch of its heroines with the relaunch and gave them more “practical” or less revealing looks? Zatanna, Black Canary, Poison Ivy and Vixen all immediately come to mind.
Here’s the thing though. If you wanna seem…
